Unique shape and design, these bobbins are prettier than other bobbins or spools I have seen in other vintage stores.
Lightweight wooden 7" bobbin with lathed rings every 1/2" with 3/4" flanged bottom and is stained a pretty cherry or mahogany. The lower portion (about 2.25") of the bobbin is plated with a metal jacket including the flange.
We found these bobbins in one of Grandma's crates, she worked in the textile industry several times in her life, most recently the late 1940's outside Philadelphia. I expect these specimens came from one of those adventures. Other than than the silver coloring rubbed off the flanged ends, there appears to be no defects.
