The Standing Liberty quarter was designed by Hermon Atkins MacNeil and struck by the United States Mint from 1916 to 1930. This coin succeeded the popular Barber quarter and was followed in 1932 by the 'George Washington' quarter.

This 1927-D coin is in overall fairly good condition. It has been stored in coin folder since at least the 40's as this item had been collected by my Grandma Eva.  Is now housed in its own cardboard coin flip.

On the Obverse:  Liberty is shadowed...LIBERTY and date is very legible... IN GOD WE TRUST-TRUST is worn more than the others and GOD is slightly gouged. Stars are slightly worn but still show points. Liberty's shield shows details on top part of shield.

On the Reverse: Rim is tarnished, especially in upper left quadrant...Eagle wing on left still shows some feather features...E PLURIBUS UNUM AND Stars under eagle still in good shape.QUARTER-left star and lower parts of Q-U-A are warn flat.
