Christine's Picture Book was created for the third birthday of Christine Stampe by her grandfather, Adolph Drewsen and his friend Hans Christian Andersen. The book is set up as a scrapbook including (according to the dust jacket) "...variety of colorful prints, carefully cut from Danish newspapers, German magazines, and French picture-sheets." Also included are the talented graphic artist Andersen's fancy paper-cuts. Together, the two men created "...funny, intimate verses..."

The original picture book was presented to young Christine in October, 1859. This is a nice reproduction of those scrapbooked pages.

Condtion is nice. The dust jacket does have some wear including small tears, the largest is a 1" down and 1/2" across at the top of the spine. Pages and spine connection is solid.
